The awards, now in the third year, will recognise excellence in four categories:
-聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 CEO of the Year
-聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 New/emerging Leader of the Year
-聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Explorer of the Year, sponsored by DDH1 Drilling
-聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Deal and/or Merger of the Year, sponsored by Steinepreis Paganin
The 2018 winners were Lynas Corporation's Amanda Lacaze (CEO of the Year), New Century Resources' Patrick Walta (New/Emerging Leader of the Year), Kidman Resources (Deal and/or Merger of the Year) and Xanadu Mines (Explorer of the Year).
Last year's judging panel, comprising members of聽MNN's聽editorial team and industry leaders, had the tough task of whittling down more than 100 nominations into just 4-6 nominees for each category.
This year's awards, for ASX-listed small-to-mid-cap companies, cover the period July 1, 2018, to June 30, 2019, with winners to be announced in July.
The company leadership awards recognise standout value creation in the qualifying period; the New/Emerging Leader of the Year being for a person who has been in their first CEO/MD role for 1-2 years.
The Explorer of the Year recognises a company/leadership team for discovery success.
The Deal and/or Merger of the Year is the聽MNN聽corporate development award recognising successful execution of a growth strategy, with associated realisation of value.
We'll be asking for nominations of companies/individuals throughout June from the industry.
The awards will again be judged by a panel of industry experts, to be announced next week.
