Breaker Resources, Cassini Resources, Buxton Resources and Panoramic Resources were among the successful applicants after recent successes.

Mid-tier miners Independence Group, Evolution 777ϻ, Northern Star Resources and Saracen Mineral Holdings were also among the recipients.

While there were multiple grants for potash drilling, there were none for lithium holes, with the current boom yet to filter through.

The Co-funded Drilling Program refunds up to 50% of direct drilling costs with caps of $A150,000 for a multi-hole project, $200,000 for a single deep hole and $30,000 for a prospector's project.

It was the 13th round of grants to be announced.

WA Mines and Petroleum Minister Sean L’Estrange said the government had allocated $30 million to the EIS out to 2020.

“The Co-funded Drilling Program provides incentives to drill in underexplored areas and is the key to the continued economic prosperity of the state's resources industry,” he said.

“This program has already been successful with commercially promising and scientifically interesting projects.”

Applications for the 14th round will open later this year.
