The RIU Sydney Resources Round-up kicks off tomorrow and like other events, there is sure to be accompanying news releases from some of the 70 presenters over three full days.

Outside the conference, some of the larger companies are also set to have news.

Fortescue Metals Group says a review into its Iron Bridge magnetite project is due to be complete late in the month.

Team culture issues around the project led to the departure of chief operating officer Greg Lilleyman in February.

Following its A$14 billion merger with Saracen Mineral Holdings in February, Northern Star Resources will bring forward its annual reserves and resources update from July to May.

That update will underpin the release of Northern Star's new strategic roadmap in late July.

Now that AngloGold Ashanti has waived its right over IGO's 30% stake in the Tropicana gold mine, Regis Resources' $903 million acquisition of the interest should close this month.

Also in gold M&A, shareholders of Toronto-listed Battle North Gold Corporation will meet on the 11th to vote on its C$343 million buy-out by Evolution 777ϻ.

If approved, the deal will go before the courts on the 17th and will close shortly after.

Lithium producer Pilbara Minerals is due to hold a strategy day this month, where it will provide an update on Pilgangoora and downstream expansion plans.

Alkane Resources expects to release feasibility studies for its San Antonio and Roswell deposits, part of the Tomingley extension project in New South Wales.

Dacian Gold flagged the release of a preliminary technical study update for its Greater Westralia mining area at Mt Morgans in WA.

Centaurus Metals is on track to release a value-add scoping study for its Jaguar nickel project in Brazil, which will consider the production of nickel sulphate via the inclusion of a pressure oxidisation circuit.

Venture Minerals will commission the plant at its Riley iron ore mine in Tasmania this month, paving the way for first shipments later in the quarter.

On the exploration front, BHP will decide on whether to proceed with a $22 million farm-in over Encounter Resources' Elliott copper project in the Northern Territory.

Further assays for Rumble Resources exciting Earaheedy zinc-lead discovery in WA are due within 3-4 weeks.

Anglo Australian Resources is planning to release a maiden resource for its Mandilla project, outside Kalgoorlie, in May.

Latin Resources said last week its maiden resource for the Noombenberry halloysite-kaolin project in WA was on track for completion in May.

TNT Mines is preparing a resource update for its Eureka gold project, outside Kalgoorlie.

With new prospectuses being launched almost daily, the flow of IPOs and new listings is expected to continue.

Companies expected to debut this month include NickelX, Global Lithium Resources, Flynn Gold, Juno Minerals and QMines, as well as supplier MLG Oz.
